Position: Community Engagement Coordinator

Position: Full-time/Hybrid
Position Overview:
The Community Engagement Coordinator will play a crucial role in advancing Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen's mission. This individual will run the organization's volunteer programs, steward volunteer growth, relationships, and opportunities, and coordinate on-site and off-site events. In addition, you’ll sit at the front desk of our San Jose office and set the tone for anyone coming to visit. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others and ready to roll up their sleeves to advance Loaves & Fishes' programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of volunteers, including posting volunteer opportunities on recruitment platforms and identifying and developing Lead Volunteers for serving sites and Outreach Volunteers for community events.
- Oversee the Community Support Driver program for volunteers who deliver meals to homebound clients.
- Develop and maintain volunteer policies, procedures, and stewardship plans.
- Coordinate volunteer engagement activities, including Volunteer Appreciation Week, to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
- Manage and update volunteer shifts, schedules, and contacts in the Salesforce volunteer portal. Maintain records and timesheets for individuals completing required volunteer hours.
- Cultivate relationships with colleges, universities, community organizations, and corporate partners to expand volunteer engagement and support program growth.
- Attend and represent the organization at community events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Create engaging communications and social media posts catered toward volunteer opportunities.
- Order supplies weekly for volunteer activities and events; facilitate positive vendor relationships.
- Welcome all volunteers, vendors, and guests to the office.
General Support:
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Support the Corporate Engagement Manager, Director of Marketing & Communications, and other team members as required.
- Perform other duties, as necessary, to support the goals of the organization and emerging business needs.
Qualifications:
- Two years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or an AA degree, or five years of related experience with a High School Diploma.
- Program management experience.
- Professional communicator with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, vendors, and with people of diverse social backgrounds.
- Strong computer skills and ability to master new technology programs.
- Works well in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
