Position Summary
Almclo Plumbing is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to oversee and support our plumbing and drain service operations in the field. This position is responsible for supervising technicians, managing projects, maintaining quality and safety standards, assisting with complex plumbing and drain issues, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and profitably.
The ideal candidate is an experienced plumbing professional with strong field leadership skills, a thorough understanding of plumbing and drain systems, and the ability to manage technicians, customers, projects, and job costs.
This position requires a California Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent qualifying plumbing credential, significant hands-on plumbing experience, and previous experience supervising field technicians or plumbing crews.
Key Responsibilities
Field Supervision & Leadership
Supervise and support plumbing and drain technicians in the field.
Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor work quality, productivity, professionalism, and safety.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to technicians.
Help technicians resolve complex plumbing and drain issues.
Ensure technicians follow company procedures, plumbing codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Coach, train, and develop field technicians.
Identify performance issues and communicate them to management.
Help maintain a professional customer experience at every job site.
Plumbing & Drain Expertise
Apply extensive knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of drain cleaning, sewer lines, sewer repairs, hydro-jetting, trenchless solutions, leak detection, repiping, water heaters, fixtures, and general plumbing repairs.
Review diagnostic findings and proposed repair solutions.
Assist technicians with difficult or unusual plumbing and drain problems.
Review job scopes to ensure recommended work is technically appropriate and complete.
Ensure work complies with applicable plumbing codes and company standards.
Project Management
Manage plumbing and drain projects from start to completion.
Coordinate technicians, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and schedules as needed.
Monitor project progress, labor, materials, and job costs.
Review project scopes and make sure work is completed according to approved proposals.
Identify potential problems, delays, change orders, or additional work requirements.
Communicate project status and issues to management.
Conduct final job-site inspections when appropriate.
Ensure completed projects meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
Pay & Job Approval
Review completed work performed by technicians.
Verify labor, production, and job completion information before approval.
Review technician compensation, commissions, production-based pay, or other applicable job-related pay information for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Approve or recommend approval of technician job pay based on completed and documented work.
Identify discrepancies, incomplete documentation, or questionable job charges before approval.
Work closely with management and payroll to resolve pay-related questions.
Quality Control
Inspect completed and ongoing work to ensure it meets company standards.
Verify that technicians are completing jobs correctly and safely.
Review photographs, videos, notes, invoices, and other job documentation.
Identify recurring workmanship issues and develop corrective actions.
Help reduce callbacks and warranty work through proper field oversight.
Customer Service
Assist with escalated customer concerns and difficult service situations.
Visit customer locations when necessary to address technical or service issues.
Explain recommended work and solutions professionally when needed.
Help ensure customers receive clear communication regarding project scope, progress, and completion.
Required Qualifications
California Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent qualifying plumbing credential required.
Strong knowledge of plumbing and drain systems.
Minimum 5 years of professional plumbing experience preferred.
Previous experience as a Field Supervisor, Plumbing Supervisor, Lead Plumber, Project Manager, or similar leadership position required.
Demonstrated experience supervising technicians or field crews.
Experience managing plumbing or drain projects from beginning to completion.
Experience reviewing and approving technician production, job documentation, or job-related pay.
Strong understanding of plumbing codes, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing and drain problems.
Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel between customer locations and job sites throughout the San Diego area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with residential service plumbing.
Experience with sewer and drain repair.
Experience with hydro-jetting and sewer camera inspections.
Experience with trenchless sewer repair or replacement.
Experience with estimating or reviewing plumbing proposals.
Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field-service management software.
Strong understanding of job costing and profitability.
Previous experience training and mentoring plumbing technicians.

Physical & Work Requirements
Field-based position requiring regular travel to customer homes and job sites.
Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, access job sites, and inspect plumbing work.
Ability to work around construction areas, plumbing equipment, tools, and varying weather conditions.
Must be available to respond to urgent field issues when required.
Compensation
Hourly Salary: $34.00 – $48.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Additional Compensation: May include performance bonuses, project-based incentives, or other company-approved compensation.
