Job Summary
The Fabrication Specialist is responsible for modifying electrical enclosures used in UL508A control panel assemblies. This includes cutting, drilling, and mounting equipment to enclosures using power tools and fabrication equipment according to design specs. This role requires a high level of accuracy, hands-on problem solving, and strong communication across teams to meet project goals.
Responsibilities
· Modify metal enclosures for cooling components (fans, AC units, heat exchangers)
· Cut fan holes, drill operator holes, and ensure clean, accurate finishes
· Use jigsaws, drills, grinders, and saws to execute fabrication tasks
· Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to perform layout and cuts
· Verify dimensions using tape measures, and other tools
· Ensure all cut and drilled components fit properly during panel assembly
· Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
· Handle materials safely; assist with team lifting for large enclosures
· Perform visual inspections to verify fabrication quality and accuracy
· Document modifications for quality control and compliance purposes
· Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
· Adhere to safety protocols and wear proper PPE
· Collaborate with engineers, panel builders, and supervisors for workflow alignment
Required Skills and Competencies
· Experience using power tools: saws, drills, grinders, etc.
· Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
· Strong attention to detail and precision
· Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
· Ability to work safely with heavy objects and materials
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Strong time management and urgency
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 lbs. (with team lift above)
· Basic documentation and record-keeping skills
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Previous fabrication or electrical assembly experience preferred
· Forklift certification required (can be obtained within 90 days of hire)

Pay: $22.00 - $31.00 per hour
