What You’ll Do
Ensure the safety of clients, staff, and visitors, protect Camillus House property, respond to emergencies, and enforce campus rules and procedures with professionalism and compassion.
Licenses & Background Requirements
- Class D Florida Security License
- Valid Florida Drivers License with clean driving record
- Successfully pass a Florida Level 2 Background Screening as required by AHCA an DCF regulations.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.
Duties
Campus Patrol & Safety Monitoring
- Patrol campus grounds and buildings on foot to ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secured.
- Watch for signs of fire, safety hazards, or dangerous conditions and report them promptly.
- Conduct regular checks of dormitories, confirming your presence to residents.
- Identify and report damage, malfunctions, suspicious activity, or safety risks across campus.
Security Operations & Compliance
- Assist all individuals in complying with Camillus House regulations and campus conduct rules.
- Issue traffic and parking citations when appropriate.
- Respond to requests for routine departmental services (e.g., unlocking suites, offices, and meeting spaces).
- Provide security coverage for special events and provide crowd control as assigned.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming environment consistent with organizational values
Skills
- 4-5 Years of Security experience preferred.
- CPR and basic first aid certifications preferred
- Bilingual - English required (Spanish or Creole preferred)
- Strong knowledge of security procedures and protocols with an emphasis on vigilance and attention to detail
- Experience in law enforcement, military service, or security roles is highly desirable
- Experience making sound decisions using good judgement in routine and urgent situations.
- Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Proficient in report writing with clear documentation skills for incident records
- Skilled in surveillance techniques using CCTV systems and other monitoring tools
- Ability to operate security-related equipment (radios, AEDs, flashlights, golf carts, etc)
- Ability to manage conflicts calmly and effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, visitors, and emergency responders
- Culturally sensitive to the needs of vulnerable populations
- Proficiency with Microsoft; additional computer skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, pull up to 25 lbs
- Perform repetitive motions and maintain manual dexterity
- Sit, stand, kneel, climb, stoop, crouch, crawl.
Schedule:
Standard shift options include:
- 7:00am - 3:30pm
- 3:00pm - 11:30pm
- 11:00pm - 7:30am
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
