Executive Director
Reports To: Board of Directors
Schedule: 4 days per week
Salary Range: $90,000–$100,000+ DOE
Primary Focus
Organizational leadership, operations, community partnerships, fundraising oversight, and long-term sustainability.
Core Areas of ResponsibilityLeadership & Strategic Planning
- Lead organizational vision, strategic planning, and sustainability efforts.
- Ensure alignment of programs, operations, and resources with the BYS mission.
- Identify emerging community needs and opportunities for growth.
- Provide executive leadership and organizational direction.
Board Relations & Governance
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors.
- Support board engagement, governance, and strategic decision-making.
- Provide regular reports regarding organizational performance, finances, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with organizational bylaws and policies.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and oversee annual budgets in partnership with the Treasurer and Bookkeeper.
- Monitor organizational financial health and sustainability.
- Ensure responsible fiscal stewardship and transparency.
- Support long-term financial planning and revenue diversification.
Operations & Human Resources
- Oversee daily organizational operations.
- Supervise senior staff and administrative personnel.
- Support recruitment, hiring, performance management, and staff development.
- Ensure organizational policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
Fundraising & Community Engagement
- Oversee fundraising strategy and donor stewardship.
- Cultivate relationships with major donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Represent BYS within the community and at public events.
- Support grant development and funding opportunities.
Marketing & Public Relations
- Oversee organizational communications, branding, and public relations.
- Serve as a spokesperson for BYS.
- Support community awareness and visibility efforts.
- Guide marketing and outreach initiatives.
Program Oversight, Evaluation & Development
- Ensure programs align with the BYS mission, community needs, and organizational priorities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate youth and family programs using evidence-informed and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Utilize research methods, outcome data, and participant feedback to assess program effectiveness and guide improvements.
- Review program outcomes and impact data to support continuous quality improvement.
- Identify emerging youth needs and recommend new programs and services.
- Monitor grant compliance, performance measures, and reporting requirements.
- Apply knowledge of adolescent development, positive youth development, and behavioral health best practices to program planning and decision-making.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Oversee organizational risk management efforts.
- Support safety, confidentiality, and ethical practices throughout the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in nonprofit management, public administration, business, social services, psychology, education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of research methods, outcome measurement, and data-informed decision-making.
- Demonstrated commitment to youth mental health, equity, inclusion, and community well-being.
- Understanding of adolescent development, positive youth development, behavioral health, and youth-serving programs.
- Excellent written, verbal, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community-based programs, or behavioral health services preferred.
- Experience managing budgets, organizational finances, and operational systems.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and personnel management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with a Board of Directors and community stakeholders.
- Ability to build partnerships and maintain positive relationships with donors, schools, organizations, and community leaders.
- Strong organizational, strategic planning, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
