Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator / Vehicle Movement Operator to join our Car Salvage Yard team.
The primary responsibility of this position is to safely operate heavy equipment and move vehicles throughout the facility, ensuring an efficient flow between workstations. This position will also support daily yard operations, vehicle tracking, loading activities, and compliance with company safety and operational procedures.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely move vehicles between different workstations and areas throughout the facility.
- Operate assigned heavy equipment, including forklifts, loaders, material handler and other similar machinery.
- Load and unload vehicles, materials, and equipment as required.
- Load trucks according to operational requirements and priorities.
- Ensure truck loads comply with applicable DOT requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking of vehicles throughout the process.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the salvage yard and work areas.
- Follow daily operational priorities, schedules, and established procedures.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or similar machinery.
- Experience moving and maneuvering vehicles in confined or restricted areas.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Basic knowledge of DOT requirements and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of industrial and workplace safety practices preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
