Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Roofing Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in structural and roofing systems to develop innovative solutions, ensure building code compliance, and manage complex projects from conception through completion. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive roofing and structural designs utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis using advanced tools such as Mathcad, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and structural engineering practices to optimize roof system performance.
- Perform building code analysis and ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal construction regulations related to roofing and structural safety.
- Manage project scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation with clarity for client communication and regulatory review.
- Oversee construction activities on-site to verify that installation aligns with design intent and safety standards.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for system design, clash detection, and visualization of roofing structures within larger building projects.
- Collaborate with civil engineers on geotechnical considerations, civil 3D modeling, and system design aspects affecting roofing stability.
- Apply knowledge of masonry, concrete, steel structural design, and geotechnical engineering principles to develop integrated solutions for diverse building types.
- Ensure all projects meet the highest standards of building code compliance while maintaining efficiency through effective project management practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in structural engineering with a focus on roofing systems or related fields such as civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management including scheduling using tools like Bluebeam or similar platforms.
- Strong background in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, along with experience in BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools including Mathcad, FEA software, and other structural engineering practices necessary for developing safe and efficient roof designs.
- Construction experience is highly valued; understanding construction regulations ensures practical application of design concepts on-site.
- Experience conducting building code analysis for various jurisdictions to ensure compliance across diverse project scopes.
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports, specifications, and client communications.
- Knowledge of steel structural design as well as masonry and concrete structural systems enhances the ability to develop comprehensive solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple projects efficiently.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
