Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, POS systems, and customer service, along with a background in managing teams. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth service flow.
- Lead and motivate staff through effective training, coaching, and performance management to uphold service standards.
- Oversee food preparation and food handling procedures to maintain quality and safety compliance.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to minimize waste.
- Operate POS systems for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all areas of the restaurant.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Support staff scheduling, interviewing, and training initiatives to develop a skilled team capable of delivering excellent service.
- Monitor shift performance metrics and implement improvements for operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as restaurant management, food service management, or hospitality management.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management with fine dining or casual dining experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems; cash handling experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in fast-paced environments like quick service & fast food restaurants or catering settings.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control, budgeting, and team management practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to train staff effectively in food handling and hospitality procedures.
- Experience in managing shift operations within a restaurant or hotel environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism; flexible availability including evenings and weekends is preferred.
