Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on GM vehicles using advanced automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Conduct repairs on powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and diesel engines, ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Complete vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake service, alignment adjustments, and wheel balancing to uphold safety standards.
- Diagnose and repair ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features like lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical problems within GM vehicles.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience as an automotive technician with GM certification or equivalent credentials.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, and body repair.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and tools specific to GM vehicles.
- Ability to work with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals efficiently.
- Skilled in diesel engine repair, alignment procedures, welding techniques, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with ADAS technology and automotive electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to vehicle repair challenges.
