Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled carpenter/foreman to help the project superintendent on various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction disciplines, including carpentry, drywall, framing and finish work. This role requires excellent leadership abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently on-site. The carpenter/foreman will be responsible for assisting on projects from start to finish, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities of construction workers on-site
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate project plan
- Frame & hang drywall, tape and texture
- Finish carpentry of all phases
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Train and mentor team members in construction techniques and safety protocols
- Perform heavy lifting as required during various stages of construction
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proven experience in the commercial industry
- Proficiency in various carpentry techniques including woodworking and metal stud framing
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical work, tile laying, caulking, and assembly processes
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for effective project management
- Strong maintenance person experience with knowledge of construction painting techniques
