SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising all aspects of the Housekeeping Department. Ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and service. Includes rooms, laundry, public areas, department storage areas and work areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises housekeeping and laundry staff as designated.

Assists in maintaining cost control systems for staffing, linen inventories and cleaning supplies.

Supervises in compliance with established company policies and procedures.

Supervises in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensures quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced.
- Schedules staff according to labor standards and forecasted occupancy, and in a fair and consistent manor.
- Maintains room quality based on hotel objectives and brand/company standards.
- Inspect all rooms cleaned by the housekeeping staff per brand/company standards.

Monitors and maintains level of cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms and public areas.
- Compiles and reports accurate status of guest rooms to front office.
- Enforces standard procedures for the acceptance, security, and return of guest lost and found items.
- Maintains standard procedures for security of on-loan equipment.
- Conducts inventories of linen, supplies and equipment as per the schedule.
- Prepares purchase order requests and receives supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.

Implements and maintains effective two-way communication systems which reach all employees.

Develops new programs which result in an increased level of employee productivity, customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks on rooms along with maintenance staff and/or manager on duty.

Assists in other departments if necessary and as directed by the management.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and/or senior management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruits housekeeping staff, training and supervising of the housekeeping department.
QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit

Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they effect housekeeping

Computer skills required – should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other hotel & productivity/maintenance software and systems.
