American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ER position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of travel and recent ER experience with a TN or compact RN license in hand.

Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center

Emergency Department (ER) unit

Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)

On-call required as needed

Weekend rotations required as needed

Large hospital experience preferred

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare

Active RN license — TN state license or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted

Minimum 2+ years of recent ER experience required (strictly enforced); 3+ years preferred

Minimum 2+ years of travel nursing experience required; candidates with 3+ years of recent experience may be considered as a first-time traveler exception

Level I Trauma Center experience required

BLS certification required (must be current or have a documented renewal plan if expiring during assignment)

ADN or higher required for this position

Driver's license required for consideration

Willingness to work 48-hour weeks when needed

First-time travelers are not accepted; at least one completed prior travel assignment is required (exception may apply for candidates with 3+ years of recent ER experience)

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — RTO will not be approved if not submitted at the time of application

Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler

If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and/or New Year's fall within the assignment period, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays (or 1 of 2 if only 2 fall within the contract)
