Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for changes in health status to ensure safety and prompt communication with healthcare teams.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through specialized memory care techniques and patient observation.
- Facilitate transportation for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance while ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, including patient progress notes, medication administration records, and incident reports.
- Engage in cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards within the care environment, including sanitizing equipment and common areas.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address individual needs related to neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or geriatrics.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment that promotes mental health and overall well-being.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately.
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia enhances your ability to deliver specialized care.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information.
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques is essential.
- Previous roles involving hospice care or geriatrics provide valuable insight into end-of-life support and long-term care environments.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and manual handling tasks demonstrates your capability to support clients safely and compassionately.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
