Position Summary
Amber Solvent Recycling is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting & Marketing Intern to support both our financial and business development functions. This paid internship provides hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, market research, and business operations within the environmental services and specialty chemical industry.
The selected candidate will gain real-world experience working on projects that directly support company operations and decision-making. The role offers a flexible, part-time hybrid schedule designed to accommodate academic commitments while providing valuable professional development opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Support account reconciliations and organization of financial documentation
- Assist in preparing financial summaries, reports, and basic business analyses
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems related to accounting and operational records
- Support general administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
- Conduct market and industry research related to solvent recycling, environmental services, and industrial manufacturing sectors
- Research potential customers, competitors, and market trends
- Assist with compiling business development and sales support information
- Help organize and maintain marketing materials, databases, and contact information
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Coursework or prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting, marketing, or business operations (Preferred)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software (Preferred)
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
