Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Auto Repair Shop Manager to lead our automotive service team. Responsibilities
- Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and inventory control to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians and service writers to achieve operational excellence and high customer satisfaction.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures across various systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engines, and collision repairs.
- Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates and facilitate efficient service writing.
- Drive sales by identifying upselling opportunities for additional services like oil changes, tire rotations, or transmission repairs while maintaining transparency with customers.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair needs, estimates, timelines, and vehicle status to foster trust and loyalty.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace that promotes safety and efficiency.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee administrative tasks related to shop operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair with strong mechanical knowledge across various systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, diesel engines, collision repair, and auto body work.
- Prior experience managing an auto service or dealership shop is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Tekmetric or similar) and computer-aided estimating tools for damage assessment.
- Demonstrated success in upselling services while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising technicians and service staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and techniques to accurately assess vehicle issues.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving may be required for shop-related activities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of shop management.
