Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across assigned routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load, secure, and unload freight
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and route planning.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license for 3 years or more with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for logistics cargo handling.
- Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards related to commercial trucking.
- Experience operating auxiliary equipment is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols when transporting goods or regulations compliance.
