We are seeking dedicated and experienced part time afternoon assistants for our classrooms. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and passionate about early childhood education. This is a part time (15-25 hours per week) position. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be willing to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Education & Certification
- Minimum of a High school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred, and/or CDA credential. (pay is based on experience and education)
- CPR and First Aid certification
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working with young children (ages 1–5)
- Patience, nurturing attitude, and high energy
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Classroom management skills for very young children
- Good communication skills (with both children and parents)
- Ability to create a safe, structured, and engaging environment
Responsibilities
Assist with daily routines:
- Diapering / Potty
- Meals and snacks
- Nap time
- Monitor children’s safety and well-being at all times
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom
- Maintain confidentiality of all child, family, and center information.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift children (20–40 lbs)
- Sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and move frequently
- Stay active throughout the day
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
