Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL A Driver to join our dynamic team! This role offers competitive pay based on experience, with rates ranging from 65 to 70 cents per mile, or 25% gross of truck or each load and opportunities to work as an owner-operator earning 80% of gross revenue. As a CDL A Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment to deliver freight efficiently and safely.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of freight including roll-off trucks and dump trucks.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and securing loads properly.
- Follow designated routes for delivery and pickup, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations.
- Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Proven driving experience with tractor-trailers or similar commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of freight handling including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, forklift operation, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely and efficiently while following safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of route driving, load securement, and delivery procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road.
