About the position:
The Eye Institute is seeking a friendly, patient-oriented medical assistant or ophthalmic technician. Primary job duties include rooming patients, taking a medial history, inputting medications, and assisting in minor procedures. Secondary job duties include scheduling patients and scanning information into the electronic medical record. Experience in ophthalmology, dermatology, or plastic surgery will be extremely useful. but we are willing to train in our specialty. Pay dependent on experience. We have 1 full time opening and 1 part time opening.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for the position:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Two years Medical Technician experience or Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Technologist preferred. Willing to train qualified medical assistant
- Must possess general medical knowledge including diseases and medications that are pertinent to patient care in ophthalmology.
- Dermatology or Plastic Surgery office experience preferred
- Great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA policies and regulations.
- Experience performing OCT & Visual fields.
- Experience with EMR.
About us:
We are a multi-specialist Ophthalmology practice, offering services ranging from comprehensive eye exams to specialty services including General Ophthalmology, Cornea, Retina, Glaucoma, Pediatrics and Adult Strabismus, Refractive and Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery. This position is for our Oculoplastic Surgeon office.
