Banquet Prep Cook Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: As a prep cook, you’ll be responsible for preparing ingredients and ensuring they are ready for cooking during banquets.

Assisting the Chef: You’ll work closely with the head chef following instructions and contributing to the overall success of the event.

Organizing and Labeling: Part of your role involves organizing food items, labeling containers, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Sanitation and Safety: You’ll adhere to food safety guidelines, maintain a sanitary environment, and handle perishable items appropriately.

Equipment Proficiency: Familiarize yourself with kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, grills, and fryers.

Taste Testing: Before serving, taste and evaluate foods to ensure they meet quality standards.

Ingredient Selection: Visually inspect and select ideal food items for preparation.

Following Recipes: Prepare food items according to established recipes and menu plans.
Qualifications and Skills:

Food Safety: Hold a food handler’s card and understand safety regulations for handling food.

Flexibility: Be available for various shifts, including weekends and holidays a must.

Experience: Ideally, you should have at least one year of food preparation experience.

Storage Techniques: Properly store dry goods and refrigerated items, preventing food waste.

Positive Attitude: Create a positive environment while efficiently meeting customer needs.
