Responsibilities
- Safely operate a non-CDL box truck to transport goods between warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during all routes.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Accurately document delivery details using mobile devices, including delivery confirmations and route logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
- Follow designated routes efficiently, adhering to schedules while maintaining safe driving practices at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving material handling equipment operation.
- Familiarity with commercial truck driving, load securement and moving/maneuvering of goods.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, weight handling in the workplace, and moving procedures.
- Ability to operate mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication purposes.
- Strong understanding of adhering to traffic regulations, DOT regulations, and safety standards for commercial driving.
- Experience with warehouse experience including manual handling, pallet jacks, and moving heavy items safely.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to handle manual tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments.
