Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will lead the service and maintenance of complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across commercial properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, safety, and energy efficiency while providing exceptional customer service. As a leader on the team, you will mentor junior technicians, troubleshoot advanced systems, and oversee installation projects to uphold our high standards of quality and reliability.
Duties
- Lead the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Oversee HVAC system installation projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems and components.
- Repair or replace HVAC/R equipment including ammonia refrigeration systems, pumps, valves, motors, and controls.
- Collaborate with property managers and clients to deliver excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and providing maintenance recommendations.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure accurate documentation of all activities performed.
Skills
- Extensive construction experience combined with proven service technician expertise in commercial HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge covering HVAC design principles, refrigeration cycles, plumbing systems, and building automation controls.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Skilled in HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting across various brands and models.
- Ability to diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters effectively.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler operation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with property maintenance tasks related to air conditioning units, appliances repair, electrical systems, and general building upkeep.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles is preferred.
- EPA certification for refrigerants; knowledge of HVAC/R standards and safety protocols is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to client communication and problem-solving.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
