Duties
- Greet guests warmly and manage seating arrangements as a host/hostess or server
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, upsell specials, and recommend wine or beverage pairings to enhance guest experience
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the shift
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and resetting dining areas to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Manage guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and professionally to guarantee satisfaction
- Utilize reservation systems like OpenTable for efficient table management and guest seating
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a server in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with fine dining or nightclub experience
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell and promote menu items effectively
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting while multitasking seamlessly
- Previous experience with culinary preparation or kitchen experience is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and order calculations
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including bussing, hosting, and guest services
- Hospitality background with an emphasis on guest relations and food industry standards
