Sirius Staffing is seeking an HSE Advisor/Specialist in Houston, TX. This role provides health and safety support for downtown office facilities. You will provide HSE leadership to Operations and Project Teams to promote a Serious Incident and Fatality (SIF) prevention culture, including Human and Organizational Performance concepts.
Schedule: Onsite 9/80 schedule with some weekend flexibility.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide in-field coaching on Safe Work Practices and permitting, with emphasis on high-risk work and safeguards.
- Develop, monitor, and verify the effectiveness of HSE deliverables and activities to meet company expectations.
- Participate in Contractor Safety Committee meetings and serve as Chevron HSE point of contact for General Contractor and Subcontractor HSE Representatives. Conduct Contractor OE Management Field Verifications/V&V Engagements and other assurance activities as directed.
- Participate in toolbox talks and JSA development, and verify IOGP Start Work Checks are used as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of proactive and leading project safety metrics.
- Address OE/HSE findings from assurance activities, including Peer Assist/Review, CRE OE Assurance Audit, OE Audit, and site inspections/audits.
- Participate in all levels of emergency response planning and training, as required.
- Participate in safety meetings, including safety standups, weekly HSE meetings, and Leadership Team walks.
- Support initial incident response and data gathering, participate in investigations as needed, and ensure proper classification and reporting are completed.
- Communicate a clear vision that builds commitment and support from employees while proactively promoting a strong Operational Excellence culture.
- Contribute, as required, to monthly and quarterly safety performance reports.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a similar safety science field.
- Minimum of 10 years of direct HSE experience in construction or commercial interiors, specifically with O&G companies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong leadership skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a sound understanding of root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and interact with multiple companies and various levels of employees and leadership.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in Occupational Health & Safety legislation/regulations, Safe Work Practices, Contractor HSE Management, Incident Investigation & Reporting, Human and Organizational Performance, High Risk Safeguard Verification, and Construction Safety.
- Must have experience with Human and Organizational Performance, leading or facilitating incident investigations, root cause analysis, emergency management, and contractor/subcontractor safety management.
- CSP – Certified Safety Professional preferred.
- Experience working closely with Operations and Projects teams to evaluate work and plan medium- and high-risk work.
