POSITION: Activities Assistant
Are you a motivated, caring team player that is organized with good communication skills? Come join us and help with the development and evolution of our Life Enrichment Program. The position will help with organizing and implementing activities within a privately-owned Assisted Living Community. The right candidates for the position will be compassionate, self-starters who are patient, hardworking and enjoy bring fun to everyone. The position requires a passion for assisting others, especially seniors, since this is a resident focused position. The position does require some lifting and frequent use of physical energy.
The Activities Assistant will be help with the planning and implementation of the activities for the residents of our community. The Assistant will work closely with the Activities Director in assessing the residents’ needs, skill level, and interests while planning and creating the activity calendar. The program will consist of various activities that will be held on the Oak Hills grounds, as well as outings in the community. The activities should focus on the physical and mental health of the residents, while ensuring they have fun.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Assist with the planning, coordinating and implementation of the activities.
· Provide socialization for the residents.
· Encourage resident participation in the various activities.
· Work closely with volunteers and provide guidance, insight and assistance when working with them to ensure the activity/program is running as it should.
· Work closely with the care staff and other departments to encourage open communication in regards to activities and events.
· Spend one on one time with residents in the form of assisting them, going for walks, conversing or sharing an activity.
· Assist with other duties assigned by Administration and Activities Director.
· Assessing and monitoring the supplies needed in the Activities Department.
· Working closely with the Activities Director to discuss new ideas and activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
