Overview
We are seeking experienced COMMERCIAL Refrigeration Installation Journeymen to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems across various commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, HVAC knowledge, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC designs. This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge refrigeration projects, including ammonia refrigeration and HVAC/R systems, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units and HVAC/R equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC designs to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
- Perform service technician tasks such as system diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Conduct plumbing and mechanical work related to refrigeration systems
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and equipment repair
- Weld components as needed for system assembly or repair
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations during all installation and service activities
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and refrigeration units
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment safely, including welding tools, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments
- Document work performed accurately for client records and service reports
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Journeyman or in a similar HVAC/R role with construction or field service background
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in appliance repair, boiler systems, air conditioning, and property maintenance
- Ability to read schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals effectively
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable
- Skilled in plumbing, equipment repair, welding, and general maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles and refrigerant handling procedures
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (PERSON driver preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring mechanical expertise
- Relevant certifications or licenses in HVAC/R are preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 60.0 per week
