Position Overview
Cora’s Canine Solutions is seeking motivated, professional, and dependable Mobile Civilian Dog Trainers to join our growing team.
This position focuses exclusively on companion dogs and family pets. Trainers will not work with police K9s, military working dogs, detection dogs, or apprehension dogs.
Our trainers provide professional, results-driven training through private in-home sessions, mobile training, puppy programs, behavior modification, AKC programs, and group classes while helping owners build stronger relationships with their dogs.
We’re looking for individuals who love working with both dogs and people, enjoy educating clients, and are committed to maintaining a professional image while representing our company.
Responsibilities
- Conduct private in-home dog training sessions.
- Provide mobile training throughout your assigned service area.
- Train puppies and adult dogs in:
- Puppy Development
- Basic Obedience
- Advanced Obedience
- Leash Manners
- Recall
- Socialization
- Behavior Modification
- Household Manners
- Educate owners on proper training techniques to ensure long-term success.
- Perform AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluations after becoming an approved AKC CGC Evaluator.
- Organize and conduct group obedience classes and puppy classes within your service area.
- Secure and coordinate appropriate locations for group classes such as parks, community centers, veterinary clinics, pet businesses, training facilities, or other company-approved locations.
- Maintain accurate client records and training notes.
- Communicate professionally with clients before, during, and after appointments.
- Represent Cora’s Canine Solutions professionally at all times.
- Participate in continuing education and company training.
- Help grow the company through referrals, community involvement, and excellent customer service.
Mobile Training Position
This is a mobile dog training position.
Most training sessions will take place:
- In clients’ homes
- Local parks
- Walking trails
- Pet-friendly businesses
- Community areas
- Other approved training locations
In addition to private lessons, trainers are encouraged to establish recurring group obedience classes and puppy classes in their local service area. Trainers may choose and coordinate approved training locations that best serve their community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous professional dog training experience preferred.
- Experience working in boarding kennels, veterinary clinics, daycare facilities, rescues, shelters, or similar animal care environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and body language.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Required Certification
Applicants must currently hold or be willing to obtain AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator certification within the timeframe established by the company.
Qualified trainers may receive company guidance and support toward obtaining certification.
Compensation
Incentive-Based Pay (1099 Independent Contractor)
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.
Rather than earning a traditional hourly wage, trainers are compensated based on the work they perform.
Your earnings increase based on:
- Private training programs completed
- Group classes conducted
- Puppy classes conducted
- AKC CGC Evaluations
- Additional services provided
- Client referrals
- Repeat business
- Overall performance and customer satisfaction
There is no cap on your earning potential.
The more clients you train and the more your business grows, the more you earn.
Performance bonuses and additional incentives may also be available based on production, professionalism, customer satisfaction, and company growth.

Professional Appearance
Trainers are required to wear the provided Cora’s Canine Solutions uniform shirt while conducting appointments, AKC evaluations, group classes, community events, and any time they are representing the company.
Professional appearance, punctuality, and courteous customer service are expected at all times.
