Responsibilities
- Design and deliver tailored lesson plans aligned with developmental goals, incorporating curriculum development and literacy education strategies.
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies for students with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other disabilities.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress through standardized testing, formative evaluations, and observational data collection.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral therapists and other specialists to support speech therapy goals and developmental milestones.
- Manage classroom behavior proactively by applying classroom management techniques suitable for students with behavioral health needs.
- Facilitate early intervention programs focusing on childhood development and preschool experience to promote foundational skills.
- Integrate educational technology tools effectively into daily instruction to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP updates, and compliance with special education law requirements.
- Support inclusive practices by working with students with disabilities in mainstream classrooms or specialized settings while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Provide mentorship and tutoring tailored to individual student needs in subjects such as math, literacy, library services, or other core areas.
- Work on life skills as well as functional academic skills.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children with disabilities across various age groups in classroom or private school settings.
- Strong knowledge of special education. child development, and behavior management for students with developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, therapists, and external agencies.
- Expertise in teaching students on the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) support strategies and supporting neurodiverse learners.
- Proficiency in educational technology integration to create engaging lessons that meet diverse learning styles.

- Skilled in applying behavioral health techniques and behavioral therapy methods to promote positive behaviors.
