Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure timely meal assembly
- Assist in cooking and food presentation to uphold our high standards of quality and flavor
- Support menu planning efforts by organizing ingredients and suggesting creative ideas for daily specials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation for catering events or large orders
- Serve as a key team member in maintaining a safe, efficient kitchen environment through diligent food handling practices
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food handling in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques for meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience in menu planning, catering, or serving is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced kitchen environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new culinary skills
