We're looking for energetic, hospitality-driven Baristas who are passionate about coffee, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy creating memorable guest experiences. Whether serving a perfectly crafted espresso drink during the morning rush or helping guests discover their new favorite beverage, you'll play an important role in representing the Commonwealth brand.
What You'll Do
As a Barista, you'll be responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of beverage quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare handcrafted espresso beverages, coffee, tea, matcha, specialty drinks, and seasonal menu items with consistency and attention to detail.
- Deliver genuine hospitality by greeting guests, building relationships, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Educate guests about our coffee offerings and confidently recommend beverages, pastries, and retail products.
- Accurately process orders using the Toast POS system while maintaining speed and accuracy during busy service periods.
- Assist with food preparation, pastry service, and light kitchen support as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked coffee bar throughout each shift.
- Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and equipment maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and inventory levels while communicating restocking needs to leadership.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Work collaboratively with the coffee, kitchen, and brewery teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting coworkers and maintaining a professional attitude.
What We're Looking ForQualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a high-volume café, coffee shop, or food service environment preferred.
- Experience preparing espresso beverages and operating commercial espresso equipment is highly preferred.
- Bartending or craft beverage experience is a plus.
- Experience with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and guest service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and perform well under pressure.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as business demands.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
