we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, integration, production, and support of ADE's current and future products. In this role you will be responsible for full-lifecycle hardware development from initial PCB schematic capture, board layout, and cable harness design to system-level integration and long-term support of advanced launchers and weapon systems meeting MIL-SPEC standards.
The ideal candidate is capable of balancing rigorous engineering standards with rapid prototyping and production support. We have a wide range of projects and technical challenges being tackled across our growing portfolio as the world adapts to new technologies shaping the modern battlefield.
Key Responsibilities
PCB Design & Layout
- Full printed circuit board lifecycle: architecture, component selection, schematic capture, and multi-layer board layout.
- Optimize designs for signal and power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, and long-term production.
- Generate comprehensive fabrication and assembly packages (Gerber, BOM, Assembly Drawing).
System Level Design & Integration
- Develop high-level electrical system architectures, defining power distribution schemes, communication protocols, and interconnect strategies.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineering teams to ensure tight form-factor integration and robust hardware-software interfacing.
MIL-SPEC Cable & Harness Design
- Design ruggedized electrical assemblies and cable harnesses compliant with defense and aerospace standards.
- Specify and implement MIL-DTL-38999 connectors, backshells, and environmental shielding.
- Define wire routing, pinouts, grounding strategies, and environmental protection (overmolding, heat shrink, braiding) for harsh environments.
Prototyping, Bring-Up & Testing
- Lead initial board bring-up, debugging, and functional verification of prototype assemblies.
- Perform hands-on PCB-level rework, soldering, and assembly of proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Design and execute rigorous test plans using standard lab equipment.
- Conduct system-level environmental, thermal, and functional testing to validate reliability against mission requirements.
Support of Existing Products
· Diagnosis and repair of returned units from the field.
· Continuous product improvement and production support.
· Review of legacy products for part obsolescence mitigation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a strictly related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in electronic hardware design (aerospace, defense, robotics, or ruggedized industrial automation preferred).
- PCB CAD Tools: High proficiency in major PCB design software (Altium, OrCAD, etc).
- MIL-SPEC Expertise: Working knowledge of MIL-SPEC electrical standards to ensure products meet or exceed MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 requirements.
- Hands-on Testing: Expert-level capability in using diagnostic laboratory equipment and debugging complex hardware issues down to the component level.
- Programming: Experience in embedded systems programming preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship: Required due to export control regulations.
Pay: $98,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
