About the Role
The Volunteer Social Media Coordinator will help plan, create, and publish engaging content across our social media platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use or develop their skills in social media management, nonprofit communications, and graphic design while supporting a meaningful cause.
Responsibilities
- Create and schedule engaging social media posts
- Design simple graphics using Canva or similar tools
- Help develop a consistent look, voice, and overall social media presence
- Promote programs, events, resources, and organizational updates
- Assist with maintaining a basic social media content calendar
- Monitor comments and messages and help encourage community engagement
- Suggest creative ideas for growing awareness and reaching new audiences
- Collaborate with the Helping Healthier Texas team to ensure content supports our mission
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in social media, communications, marketing, or graphic design
- Familiarity with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or TikTok
- Basic graphic-design skills; experience with Canva is helpful
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Creativity, reliability, and the ability to work independently
- A genuine interest in nonprofit work and healthier Texas communities
- Previous experience is welcome but not required
