We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of human resource-related tasks that support the daily operations of the HR Department. Primary duties include recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, safety, payroll support, and general administrative responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assisting with the recruiting process to include advertising/job postings, pre-screening interviews, review of candidate files and onboarding.

Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the Club.

Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or Human Resources Director during the offer process, identifying start dates and other pertinent details.

Facilitates background, reference checks and DMV pull.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.

Assists with implementation and conducting new hire orientation.

Assists with providing education to employees on the application of company policies and procedures.

Aids and guides management and line staff on HR-related questions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

Maintains and updates employee records within the HRIS according to approved Personnel Action Forms (PAFs), and generates HR reports, analyses, and other data-driven information as required.

Assists with payroll administration, including reviewing timesheets, auditing employee data, processing employee status changes, wage adjustments, deductions, and other payroll-related transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

Assists with development, implementation, and execution of employee recognition programs and events.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Supports the Club's comprehensive safety program by facilitating monthly meetings, promoting workplace safety initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce injuries and incidents, evaluating and improving safety training programs, conducting safety inspections and compliance audits, and assisting with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.

Ensure work environment is safe and Codes of Safe Practices are adhered to consistently. Report injuries timely.
- Facilitate posting of monthly birthday and anniversary list and signing of cards.
- Attend staff meetings.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director, including answering and returning phone calls/emails, responding to inquiries, coordinating communications, and assisting with departmental administrative tasks as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), HRMS/HRIS systems, and standard office equipment.
- General knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, and organizational development.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and their practical application within the organization.
- Working knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour regulations, payroll reporting, and payroll software platforms; ability to maintain confidential payroll and employee information with a high degree of accuracy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of human resources, management operations, or related professional experience; or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field with at least one (1) year of related experience.

Experience supporting payroll processing and payroll-related functions, preferably in a multi-department hospitality, club, resort, or service-oriented environment.

Private club, resort and/or hospitality experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
- Valid California Driver License with clean motor vehicle record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed indoors in a well-lit area at a moderate noise level. Employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions on occasion. Weather conditions range from wintertime lows of 30 degrees to summertime highs to 80+ degrees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

Occasionally move boxes and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the Club.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position up 80% of the time.

Must be able to occasionally move about both the inside and the outside of the Club.

Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to frequently operate a computer and standard office equipment, including copiers, printers, telephones, and other office productivity systems.
