Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic - II to join our maintenance team. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trailers and equipment in the field, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments. This position offers an opportunity to work with a wide range of machinery, including tractor-trailers, tires, and more.
Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on air brakes, suspension bushings, shocks & airbags.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance instruments to complete repairs efficiently.
- Perform tire service, brake repairs, shocks & airbag replacement, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols during all service activities to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment for repair or maintenance purposes.
Experience
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including air brake systems, suspension systems, tire service, and electrical diagnostics.
- Experience required in FHWA inspections.
- Copy of Brake Certification.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Strong customer service skills are a plus for interacting with clients regarding repairs or service needs. This position requires a dedicated professional with comprehensive mechanical knowledge and practical experience in heavy equipment repair to ensure all trailers and machinery operate safely and efficiently in various field conditions.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
