The Health IT Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining healthcare information technology systems, networks, and end-user computing environments. The Health IT Technician will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure and providing technical support to healthcare staff and users. The incumbent will have strong troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of computer networks and hardware systems, and excellent customer service. This position reports to the IT Manager.
Maintain computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, switches, and other physical hardware.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment and related hardware/software issues.
Monitor computer systems and network performance to ensure optimal functionality and security.
Update and maintain virus protection software and security protocols to safeguard data and communications.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and configuration issues for end users.
Provide desktop support and technical assistance to employees and healthcare personnel as needed.
Communicate technical and networking issues effectively to employees, management, and vendors.
Assist with onboarding and training new users on IT systems, equipment, and cybersecurity best practices.
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and upgrades on systems and equipment.
Document support activities, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, healthcare IT standards, and applicable security regulations.
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes as directed.
Collaborate with IT staff and leadership on technology improvement initiatives and special projects.
