Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Designer III with extensive experience in the aviation industry to participate in design and creation of virtual solid models, interface with engineering teams, and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Requirements:
- 8+ years' design experience in the aviation industry
- Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel and/or other MS applications
- Ability to work outside and on top of aircraft
- Potential travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
- Preferred Skills:
- Design experience in aviation structural assembly
- Aerospace engineering design experience in both Military and Civil aviation
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and test instrumentation
- A&P qualification
- CNC programming experience
- Responsibilities:
- Participate in design and creation of virtual solid models for new products and modifications/upgrades to existing designs
- Interface with Engineering for documentation, detailing design requirements, specifications, schedules; design for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability using MIL-SPEC, FAA standards
- Create 3-D CAD models for components/systems/assemblies; perform tolerance stack up analysis, mass properties checks
- Represent Design Group in multi-disciplinary project teams; communicate progress to management
