Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrician with Programming Experience to join our dynamic industrial maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and automation equipment across manufacturing facilities. You will spend approximately 50% of your time performing electrical work and 50% of your time programming units. Your expertise in electrical diagnostics, industrial controls, and programming will ensure optimal operation of complex machinery and automation systems. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high voltage, low voltage, and electrical instrumentation across manufacturing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and engineering blueprints to accurately diagnose issues.
- Program, configure, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), sensors, vision inspection systems, and other automation devices using software.
- Conduct calibration of sensors, instrumentation, and control devices to ensure precise operation within industrial processes.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments like ohmmeters and multimeters to conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to electrical safety procedures while working with high voltage or complex electrical systems in industrial environments.
- Support field service activities by providing technical expertise during installation or repair of equipment at customer sites.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop schematics or modify existing electrical blueprints for process improvements or system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards related to electrical safety, wiring practices, and control system integration.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair in manufacturing settings.
- Hands-on experience programming PLCs and working with industrial controls including sensors, relays, motor drives, and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Familiarity with industrial automation platforms such as Calypso or similar engineering programming environments.
- Experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints (including AutoCAD drawings), and electrical instrumentation diagrams.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures for high voltage and low voltage systems in industrial environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters or multimeters efficiently.
- Prior field service experience working directly on manufacturing equipment or automation systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of vision inspection systems or other advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.
- Military experience in related technical roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
