The Job Developer & Employment Support Coach assists neurodivergent adults and adults with developmental disabilities in obtaining and maintaining meaningful community employment. This position combines job development, job coaching, employer outreach, workplace training, and ongoing employment support. The coach works with multiple clients throughout the week, providing individualized support both in the community and at job sites.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesJob Development
- Meet with clients to identify employment goals, interests, strengths, and support needs.
- Assist clients with career exploration and vocational planning.
- Develop resumes, cover letters, and employment profiles.
- Assist with online job searches and applications.
- Conduct employer outreach and build relationships with local businesses.
- Arrange informational interviews, job shadows, and work experiences.
- Match clients with appropriate employment opportunities.
Employment Support & Coaching
- Provide on-site job coaching and training.
- Teach job-specific tasks and workplace routines.
- Support workplace communication and social interactions.
- Assist clients with problem-solving and self-advocacy skills.
- Develop strategies for workplace organization, time management, and task completion.
- Support transportation training and workplace navigation.
- Monitor job performance and provide constructive feedback.
Employer Relations
- Serve as a liaison between employers, clients, families, and service teams.
- Educate employers regarding disability inclusion and workplace accommodations.
- Assist employers in developing natural workplace supports.
- Address workplace concerns and facilitate successful resolutions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate service notes and progress reports.
- Document client goals, outcomes, and employment progress.
- Submit required reports in accordance with regional center, Department of Rehabilitation, and agency requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and client planning meetings.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Education, Social Work, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, or related populations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, registration and proof of insurance.
- Ability to pass background clearance requirements.
Preferred
- Experience with Supported Employment, Customized Employment, or Job Development.
- Knowledge of Regional Center services and the California Self-Determination Program.
- Experience supporting neurodivergent adults.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel throughout San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area communities.

Compensation
- Typical San Francisco Bay Area range: $28-$40+ per hour, depending on experience, education, and funding source.
- Mileage reimbursement for community travel.
