LOGISTICS MANAGER
Position Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of Sullivan Eastern Incs’ Logistics Department. This position oversees fleet operations, transportation planning, DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver performance, equipment utilization, and logistics personnel. The Logistics Manager works closely with Operations, Project Management, Equipment, Safety, and Human Resources to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of personnel, equipment, and materials while supporting company goals and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily logistics, transportation, and fleet operations.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
- Supervise logistics personnel, including dispatch, fleet support, and CDL drivers.
- Manage driver hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and retention.
- Oversee driver qualification files, compliance records, and regulatory programs.
- Monitor fleet utilization, transportation costs, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate transportation schedules to support project and equipment needs.
- Manage outside hauling vendors, subcontractors, and transportation agreements.
- Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents, and claims.
- Track operational metrics and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Equipment, and Project Management teams.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of logistics, transportation, fleet management, or construction operations experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and transportation compliance requirements.
- Experience managing CDL drivers and transportation operations.
- Proficiency with GPS, fleet management systems, transportation software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in heavy civil construction, grading, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance coordination and equipment logistics.
- CDL license or transportation industry certifications preferred.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and telematics platforms.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to project sites and company facilities as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and operate standard office equipment for extended periods.
Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
