Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician – New Product Introduction (NPI) to support the successful launch of new products into manufacturing. This role is responsible for supporting Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Design Validation Test (DVT), and Production Validation Test (PVT) builds by preparing material kits, validating components against Bills of Materials (BOMs), assisting with production line setup, and ensuring all pilot build activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, enjoys working with cross-functional teams, and is comfortable following standard operating procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction Support
- Support EVT, DVT, and PVT pilot production builds.
- Prepare and verify material kits according to Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Validate components before production begins.
- Monitor material availability throughout pilot builds.
- Assist with production line setup and workstation readiness.
- Perform manufacturing system transactions and maintain accurate production records.
Process & Quality
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain product traceability and documentation.
- Report discrepancies and assist in resolving production issues.
Systems & Reporting
- Utilize manufacturing systems such as SAP, MES, SFC, MFG, or similar platforms.
- Record production data accurately.
- Support reporting and basic dashboard creation using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, and New Product Introduction teams.
- Communicate production status and support successful product launches.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process inefficiencies during pilot builds.
- Recommend improvements to increase quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to support changing production schedules and overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Knowledge of EVT, DVT, and PVT production builds.
- Experience using SAP, MES, SFC, MFG, or similar manufacturing systems.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or high-volume production.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
- Experience working in ESD-controlled manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with traceability requirements and quality documentation.
Required Skills

- Verify components before production.
- Perform material kitting and production support.
- Troubleshoot basic manufacturing or assembly issues.
- Follow production procedures and work instructions.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands for component handling and system setup.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Visual ability to read labels, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
