The Operations Manager – Environmental Asbestos Remediation oversees day-to-day operations for remediation projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with environmental regulations. This role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising project teams, coordinating resources, and driving operational excellence across remediation activities including soil and groundwater remediation, hazardous waste cleanup, and site restoration. MUST HAVE CONSTRUCTION OR ENVIRONMENTAL BACKGROUND. CANDIDATES FLUENT IN SPANISH DESIRED.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across environmental asbestos projects, including field activities, logistics, and resource allocation
- Lead and oversee daily operations for environmental remediation projects from mobilization through closeout
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.)
- Manage field supervisors, project managers, and remediation crews to meet project goals and performance standards
- Develop and implement operational best practices
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, labor utilization, and equipment usage to ensure profitability and efficiency
- Coordinate equipment, materials, subcontractors, and staffing needs
- Collaborate with safety and environmental compliance teams to promote a strong safety culture
- Review incident reports, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze operational KPIs and prepare performance reports for leadership
- Support client relationships by ensuring high-quality service delivery and issue resolution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of operations management experience in environmental remediation, hazardous waste, or industrial services
- Strong knowledge of remediation techniques (soil excavation, groundwater treatment, vapor mitigation, waste handling)
- In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and remediation compliance requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing field-based teams
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management/operations software
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to active remediation sites
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Experience with environmental remediation, waste management, or compliance-based operations
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
