In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our front office. You will manage the daily operations of the front desk, lead and mentor a team of guest service agents, and ensure every guest who walks through our doors experiences our signature warm, welcoming hospitality. Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all front desk staff. Foster a positive working environment and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Guest Experience: Serve as the main point of contact for guest inquiries, special requests, and complaint resolution. Ensure the team delivers top-tier customer service that aligns with Wyndham brand standards.
- Daily Operations: Oversee check-in/check-out procedures, cash handling, and billing audits. Manage room inventory, group blocks, and coordinate closely with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure seamless room readiness.
- Financial Accountability: Monitor front office expenses and optimize room revenue through effective upselling and inventory management.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the front desk team follows all security protocols, guest privacy regulations, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hotel front desk experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) — experience with Opera is a major plus. Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ability to handle high-stress situations with grace, patience, and a smile.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Fargo-Moorhead area (dining, attractions, highways) to confidently assist out-of-town guests.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 30 lbs (such as guest luggage or supply boxes).
