About Community Provisions
Community Provisions is a specialty produce and foodservice distribution company serving restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and independent grocers across Southern California. We combine the quality and relationships of a traditional produce house with the operational discipline of a modern distributor. Our team is tight-knit, fast-moving, and strive for excellence daily.
The Role
We’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Representative who understands that collecting money doesn’t have to mean uncomfortable conversations. Our customers are chefs, buyers, and operators who care about their business, and we want someone who can meet them where they are, maintain the relationship, and get invoices resolved efficiently.
This is a full-time role that reports to our Controller and works closely with the sales team to ensure our receivables stay current without sacrificing the partnerships we’ve worked hard to build.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and manage the AR aging report, proactively reaching out to accounts before invoices become past due
- Contact customers by phone and email to follow up on outstanding balances in a professional, courteous manner
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers to support timely payment and ongoing business
- Collaborate with sales reps to resolve disputes, short pays, and billing discrepancies quickly
- Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate records in our ERP/accounting system
- Escalate delinquent accounts appropriately and assist with collections when needed
- Provide regular aging updates and reporting to the Controller and leadership team
- Support month-end close processes related to accounts receivable
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience
- A natural people person. You can have a firm conversation while keeping the relationship intact
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational habits and the ability to juggle multiple accounts
- Comfortable working in accounting or ERP software (experience with Produce Pro is a plus)
- Experience in foodservice, produce, or distribution is a bonus, not a requirement
- Self-motivated, dependable and you don’t need someone checking over your shoulder to stay on top of your queue
