Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor and Choreographer to inspire and develop dancers of all ages and skill levels. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive dance curriculum tailored to different age groups, skill levels, and artistic goals.
- Teach a variety of dance styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and more, ensuring clear instruction and positive reinforcement.
- Create innovative choreography for classes, performances, competitions, and special events that challenge students and showcase their talents.
- Manage classroom environments effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe, inclusive space for all students.
- Plan engaging lesson plans that incorporate elements of theater experience, creative arts instruction, and movement techniques.
- Work with students individually or in groups to improve technique, performance skills, and artistic expression through tutoring and personalized feedback.
- Collaborate with other instructors on youth programs, early childhood education activities, or adult education workshops to promote community engagement in the arts.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of choreography techniques across multiple dance styles including ballet and modern dance.
- Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to diverse age groups from preschoolers to adults.
- Proven experience teaching visual & performing arts with an emphasis on dancing and theater arts.
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering creativity and discipline in students of varying backgrounds.
- Experience working with children, youth programs teaching experience, or special education settings is highly desirable.
- Skills in photography or videography are a plus for documenting performances or creating promotional content.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management strategies related to teaching young learners.
