About the Role
We’re hiring a Fleet Manager / Senior Dispatcher to run day-to-day operations at our Savannah terminal. Person would be in charge of operating the terminal and driving its growth, with a clear path to a Terminal Manager position as that growth is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily drayage dispatch: pin assignments, chassis and container reservations, and last free day (LFD) tracking to keep containers moving and avoid per diem/demurrage exposure.
- Run daily yard reports, MDR, and CNI tracking to keep container inventory and terminal status current.
- Monitor driver hours-of-service (HOS) and ELD compliance across the fleet.
- Review and process accessorial charges accurately and on schedule.
- Primary driver recruiting and retention — source, screen, and bring on the drivers needed to grow and sustain the fleet.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all terminal activity.
- Track and report terminal KPIs — on-time pickups/deliveries, per diem/demurrage avoidance, and truck utilization.
- Troubleshoot service issues in real time and escalate when needed.
- Manage Driver Payroll/ settlements.
Qualifications
- Experience as a dispatcher, terminal coordinator, or similar role in drayage, intermodal, or drayage-adjacent trucking.
- Working knowledge of port operations — LFD, ERD, cut-offs, vessel schedules, and appointment/reservation systems.
- Able to operate a TMS (transportation management system).
- Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable running a terminal with a high degree of autonomy.
- Understanding of HOS/ELD compliance requirements.
- Prior experience in driver recruiting/retention a plus.
- Strong knowledge of geographic region.
