Position Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's building, guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and employees. This position performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and responds promptly to maintenance requests while maintaining brand standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hotel maintenance experience required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and exterior grounds.
- Complete preventive maintenance according to hotel standards.
- Respond quickly to guest maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Repair plumbing issues such as clogged drains, leaking faucets, and running toilets.
- Perform basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and breakers.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
- Repair drywall, flooring, doors, locks, windows, furniture, and fixtures.
- Perform painting, caulking, and general cosmetic repairs.
- Ensure swimming pool, parking lot, sidewalks, and landscaping are properly maintained (if applicable).
- Maintain elevators, laundry equipment, and kitchen equipment by coordinating with certified vendors when necessary.
- Replace air filters, batteries, smoke detector batteries, and light bulbs throughout the property.
- Keep maintenance shop organized and maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and hotel safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Be available for on-call emergencies, weekends, holidays, and evening shifts as required.
