We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Manager to lead our billing department with energy and precision. Duties
- Lead and manage the medical billing and coding team to ensure timely, accurate submission of claims across insurance providers, including third-party payers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Oversee the implementation of electronic health records (EHR) management systems to streamline billing processes and improve data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all medical billing regulations, including ICD coding standards, Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare policies.
- Develop and enforce policies for healthcare billing management that optimize hospital revenue cycle management.
- Conduct regular audits of billing practices to identify discrepancies, improve coding accuracy (including ICD coding), and reduce denials or rejections.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on medical coding, health insurance knowledge, and updates in healthcare billing regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure proper documentation for accurate coding and reimbursement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance third-party billing procedures, healthcare laws, and revenue cycle best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing a medical billing and coding team within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing regulations compliance, including Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Experience with billing software platforms used in hospital revenue cycle management.
- Deep understanding of healthcare billing management processes from patient registration through final reimbursement.
- Expertise in electronic health records (EHR) management systems to facilitate accurate data entry and retrieval.
- Solid knowledge of medical coding principles, including ICD coding standards for diagnosis classification.
- Familiarity with health insurance policies, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and insurance third-party billing procedures.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff toward continuous improvement in revenue cycle performance.
