Missouri Ozarks Community Health is a community health center dedicated to providing quality healthcare to individuals in Ava, Gainesville, Mansfield, Mountain Grove, Theodosia, Cabool, and Houston. Our team has been caring for patients since 1997 and is committed to expanding our services.
We are looking for a competent dental assistant to join our dental team working on our dental bus. This person will make the patients’ experience more efficient and pleasant for patients. You will ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.
We are looking for a motivated, results-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to think independently and act decisively when needed. Preference will be given to candidates with current Dental Assistant certification. Candidates should have a solid understanding of dental procedures and the ability to adhere to strict hygiene standards. A willingness to travel to other clinic locations is required. We offer the option of choosing a 4- or 5-day work week.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers in the dental bus.
- Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed.
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry.
- Undertaking lab tasks as instructed.
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked.
- Schedule appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.
- Preference for a Certified Dental Assistant or at least 1-year proven experience as dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental terminology.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Knowledge of computer operations.
- Must have the ability to deal with stressful situations and a fast-paced workload.
- Excellent people skills.
- Confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to hear, speak, see, walk, kneel, bend, and lift fifty pounds.
- Potential employees will receive and must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment can begin.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
