Are you an experienced Front Desk Medical Receptionist with Clinical Background looking for the next challenge? Alpenglow Pain & Wellness is looking for a Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist Monday through Friday to join our energized and friendly environment with a team of individuals who exhibit an internal hustle, strong work ethic, and a drive to provide excellent patient care.
Our office Alpenglow Pain & Wellness was awarded top pain management doctor in Anchorage for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. We consistently receives 5-star reviews from patients on all review platforms. Our providers include interventional pain physician and anesthesiologist, Dr. Nichelle Renk, with Dr. Gavin Nixon, Physician Assistant Cynthia Dunleavy, PA-C, Nurse Practitioner April Hinsberger, Massage Therapists Jenn Seifert-Byrne, LMT, and Abby Kuster, LMT.
The Front Desk Receptionist tasks will include but not be limited to: answering phones, scheduling appointments, collection of patient dues, billing support, referral management, inventory and more. The Clinical Support duties will include but not limited to: obtaining vitals, obtaining/scribing patient histories, review of symptoms, physical exam, assessment, and plan for the provider as well as managing the patient phone calls, voicemails, and portal messages throughout the day as well as assist with procedures, prepare a sterile tray, operate a fluoroscopy, place intravenous lines, and perform phlebotomy and intramuscular injections. Other duties would include sterilization, supply inventory, processing specimens, and preparing clinical documents/prior authorizations. So the right candidate would be someone with the experience or willingness to learn these duties. To be successful as a Front Desk Receptionist/ Clinical Support, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
Hands-on Patient Care
Chart Documentation
Assisting the physician in procedures
Answering phone calls, voicemails, and portal messages
Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook)
Process payments for services and products
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

Excellent typing skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)

Positive customer service attitude
High school degree
EMT or Medical Assistant experience preferred
Experience with Athena EMR preferred
Billing experience preferred
