We are seeking versatile Electrical Engineers that can apply their skills and experience to a wide array of design challenges and produce results that enhance the company’s product offerings. One of the most important aspects for this position will be to provide differentiating Electrical Engineering expertise and design and lead the development of some of the most capable sensor technologies on the planet. The ability to effectively delegate work assignments and effective problem-solving skills to address issues that arise is a critical skill required of this position. Senior Electrical Engineers and Principal Electrical Engineers are sought.
This is a full-time, on-site salaried position at our newest Class A office building in Southpointe (adjacent to the Southpointe Country Club) in Canonsburg, PA. Please be aware that, due to our work with government contracts, all Nokomis employees must be US citizens. This position requires occasional business-related travel.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develop state-of-the-art multi-layer circuit boards that have Radio Frequency (RF), digital and analog components to their design.
- High level circuit design and schematic capture skills are required.
- Understanding of front-end filtering and Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) implementation and integration into an end-to-end integrated product is a must.
- Hardware development and production for a wide array of current projects in the field of electromagnetic sensing, EM-based spectroscopy, and signature assessment
- Fabrication and production of new hardware designs to support new features of our product suite
- Lead and coordinate PCB hardware development team for design reviews, schematic reviews, and layout reviews
- Manage design of power supplies and monitor power distribution
- Collaborate with Project Managers to keep project within scope, budget and on time while meeting performance requirements
- Lead the generation of and maintenance of engineering documentation including assembly drawings and test procedures
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
- The writing of proposals to win future R&D efforts as Principal Investigator (PI)
- The presentation of R&D proposals to win funding and contribution on funding presentations
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is preferred in electrical engineering or a related discipline (7+ years experience anticipated)
- Experience with multi-layer highly integrated densely populated PCB builds, design, and root cause analysis
- Knowledge and experience with embedded systems programming (microprocessor, FPGA, and CPLD)
- Knowledge of and design aptitude with analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with C, C++, VHDL and any other code that may be instantiated into the designs
- Soldering and assembly of discrete wiring, breadboarding, and PCB repair
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS
- Programming experience in any of: Git, C#, C++, VHDL, Visual Studio, Vivado, FPGA, MATLAB/Octave, Python, Autodesk Inventor, is preferred. Candidate must at least have a familiarity with these tools or languages and understand how they are used to instantiate the designs implemented by the company.
